We take your privacy and data ownership very seriously. It's one of the reasons we built Frenlo - because lots of people make comprises at your expense when it comes to data privacy
Your data is yours – you own it. We collect only the data we need to create a great service. We'll never sell it, use it for advertising, or share it with anyone else.
We collect your name and email address when you sign up for an account.
Using your real name helps your friends find you, but you don’t have to. We don’t run any checks to verify your legal name.
We use your email address for important service communications like security alerts and for account management purposes like resetting your password.
Frenlo hosts the content that you upload as part of our core social experience. You own this data and you have the right to request that it be deleted in full from Frenlo at anytime.
Currently, billing is handled exclusively through Apple's in-app purchase solution.
We do not receive any details about your billing information or other personal information from Apple.
When you browse our marketing pages or use our applications on the web, your browser automatically shares certain information with us such as: your device’s operating system, language, browser version, pages visited, page load timing, and which website referred you.
For applications, we collect limited information about your device, including the device model, OS version, and languages.
We log access to accounts by IP addresses that we can always verify you, the user, and ensure no unauthorized access has occurred. We keep this login data for as long as your account is active. We also use IP addresses to prevent spam and fraud.
When you contact us for support, we keep a copy of that correspondence and the email address, so we have a history of past correspondences to reference if you reach out in the future.
We store any information you volunteer, like surveys. When we do customer interviews, we may ask for your permission to record the conversation for future reference or use. We only do this if you give your express consent.
We don’t collect any characteristics of protected classifications including age, race, sex, gender, religion, sexual orientation, gender identity, gender expression, or physical and mental abilities or disabilities.
You may implicitly or explicitly provide these data voluntarily, like if you include a pronoun preference in your name, upload a profile picture, bio, or tell us when contacting us for support. We do not analyze, extract, or mine any of this data to determine aspects of your identity.
We use the data you provide to show your messages, posts, and other relevant app data on the device you access your Frenlo account from.
Frenlo is a cloud-based service, which means your messages and user data are stored in secure data centers (see our subprocessors for a complete list of these data centers).
Frenlo employees will only access your account on very rare occasions for these three specific reasons laid out in our Terms of Service.
If a user reports a violation of our Community Safety Policy, we review the reported content to verify the report. Whenever possible, this content is reviewed in an anonymized manner and with the minimum amount of context needed to make an informed decision.
We may also use an automated process to flag content without a user reporting it. For example, we may build a tool that automatically flags inappropriate content for human review by our Community Safety Team.
We may use aggregated, anonymized data about how you use Frenlo to help us improve functionality, stability, and performance.
Frenlo, PBC is a US company and we are required to comply with US law.
If US law enforcement authorities have the necessary warrant, criminal subpoena, or court order requiring we share data or preserve data, we have to comply.
We will reject any voluntary request for data from law enforcement.
We may be required to share billing information if under audit by a tax authority. In this case, we will only provide the minimum information required to comply.
Unless we’re legally prevented from doing so, we’ll inform you when such requests are made.
We have never received a National Security Letter or Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act (FISA) order.
If an authority outside the US makes a request, we will not comply unless required to do so under US law.
If you delete content in the app, it gets deleted immediately. Data will be deleted from our backups within 30 days.
If at any time you choose to delete your account, any data you ever put into Frenlo will be deleted within 30 days.
You also have a right to receive a copy of your data.
